June 10-11: The Wills Point Police Department will host its annual Back the Blue Benefit at Jack Lester Park. Participants in the Outlaw BBQ Association sanctioned cook-off that will begin preparations June 10 with cook’s choice dishes due by y 7:30 p.m. Turn in times for the following day will be as follows: jackpot beans, noon; chicken, 1 p.m.; pork spareribs, 2 p.m.; and brisket, 3 p.m. Awards announcements for the cook-off and trophy presentations will take place beginning at 4 p.m. Kids will have plenty to do throughout the day June 11 with bounce houses, sling shots, tug of war, kites, water balloons and more at the ready for them to enjoy. Other attractions at the daylong event will include a silent auction, K9 presentation featuring local handlers and a hometown car show.

June 11-12: The North Texas Antique Tractor and Engine Club’s Show will take place from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. June 11 and from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. June 12 at Ben Gill Park. Admission is $5 for persons ages 9 and up, and free for all those 8 and under.

June 13: The Wills Point ISD Board of Trustees meets on the second Monday of each month beginning at 6 p.m. at the WPISD Administration Building located at 338 W.N. Commerce St. The meetings include an opportunity for members of the community to address the board, monthly reports and action items related to the WPISD’s monthly business.

June 14: The Wills Point City Council meets on the second Tuesday of each month beginning at 6 p.m. at the Wills Point City Hall offices (located at 518 Houston Street). The meetings include an opportunity for members of the community to address the council, monthly reports from department heads and action items related to the city’s monthly business.

June 18: Wills Point’s annual Juneteenth celebration will begin at 11 a.m. with a parade making its way down from the intersection of O’Neal and S. Fourth St. towards South Park. Once the parade has concluded, a party will be held in the park with free food, games and fellowship for the community.

July 3-4: Terrell’s Freedom Fest 2022 will take place at the Terrell Municipal Airport over two fun-filled days. Events and attractions will include hot air balloon flights and tethered rides, live music, food vendors and a firework show.
