Molly Lu Castleberry of Denver, Colorado passed away January 7, 2024, at the age of 76. Her Celebration of Life Service will be held May 25, 2024, at 11 a.m. followed by a Reception at Horan & McConaty, 1091 S. Colorado, Denver, Colorado 80246. Because of Molly’s love for the Colorado Rockies baseball team, Rockies attire is encouraged to be worn to the Celebration.

Molly is preceded in death by her parents, Leslie Ulysses and Winna Fay Read Castleberry, and nephew, Read Castleberry.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Terri Castleberry; nieces’ and nephew’s families: Erin, Mark, Ryann, and Lily Lamb; Sara, Jason, Emma, and Marty Hentschel; and Anne and Wyatt Castleberry.

She is also survived by her aunt, Betty Alexander, and numerous cousins.

Molly was born in Wills Point. She graduated as Valedictorian from Wills Point High School in 1965. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of North Texas, formerly North Texas State University, where she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. She received a Master’s Degree from the University of Colorado at Denver. During her college years, Molly enjoyed working in the summers at Yellowstone National Park.

For many years, she worked at Metro Waste Water as Senior Supervisor. Molly was a longtime member of Grant Avenue United Methodist Church. She was a devoted Colorado Rockies fan and had season tickets to Coors Field for many years. She loved to go to the movies and would later write her own movie reviews to send to her family and friends. Going to Starbucks for a cappuccino and reading her newspaper there was a daily ritual for her. Molly was a world traveler and counted 111 countries that she had toured. At the end of each day of travel, she would “get centered” and exclaim to her travel companions, “It’s been a rich and full day!” Molly had a unique and inquisitive personality.

She was known to be a good friend with a generous spirit. She will be dearly missed by her family and many devoted friends.
