Services for Samuel William “Sam” Jordan, 68, of Edom, were held Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at New Beginnings Community Church in Edom with Brother Shelby Davidson officiating, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home in Canton. Interment was in Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton.

Mr. Jordan passed away Dec. 2, 2023, in Edom surrounded by his loved ones. He was born March 8, 1955, in Tyler to Cranfill Alexander “C.A.” Jordan and Frances Merle Gandy Jordan.

Sam was a lifelong resident of Edom. He graduated from Van High School in 1973 and then earned an Associate’s Degree from Tyler Junior College where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Sam was a lifelong member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church until it closed and then New Beginnings Community Church in Edom. He worked at Jordan’s, the family business, most of his life. Sam became a devout Aggie fan when his son, Tyler, went to Texas A&M. He enjoyed going to Texas A&M football and baseball games with Tyler. Sam enjoyed playing dominoes, playing his guitar at church, and spending time with his family. Sam was known for his outgoing personality. He never met a stranger!

Sam is preceded in death by his parents, C.A. and Frances Jordan. He is survived by his son and daughter- in-law, Tyler and Kathryn Jordan of Chandler; grandson, Truett Cranfill Jordan of Chandler; brother, Mike Jordan of Edom; brother, Pat Jordan and Melissa Davis of Edom; nephew, John Jordan II of New York; nephew, Nathan and Valene Jordan of Edom; niece, Ashley Mosley of Van; great-niece, Livia Jordan of Edom; great-nephew, Lathan Jordan of Edom; many cousins, other relatives and a host of friends. Pallbearers were Gary McAnally, Danny Meyer, Ricky Gandy, Keith Clements, Eric Batie, Jerry Johnston and Will Horton. The Jordan Family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to all the numerous family members and friends who came to see Sam. He cherished each and every one of you!
