State Park Day Pass reservations for the Solar Eclipse event Monday, April 8 will open at 8 a.m. March 8, Those hoping to view the total eclipse from a state park location can call the Texas State Parks Reservations Center at 512-389-8900 or go online for all parks except the Enchanted Rock State Natural Area. Reservations for Enchanted Rock will need to be made March 11 by phone only.

The Spirit and Squirt Horse Rescue Spring Concert is scheduled for Saturday, March 9 at the Van Zandt County Fairgrounds located at 24792 State Highway 64 in Canton. The concert will feature ‘Jimmy Lewis & 8 Second Ride Band.’There will be free entry, but parking will be $20 per vehicle.

According to Amy Valdez, Texas A&M AgriLife Program Specialist, “sleep is just as important as including a well-balanced eating pattern and physical activity into our daily lives. It can have a great impact on our physical and mental health, and a lack of sleep can be detrimental”.

Prices in Texas are 10.3 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 77.6 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has fallen 4.6 cents in the last week and stands at $4.34 per gallon.
