sports@vanzandtnews.com The Wills Point Lady Tigers stayed busy over the holiday break, following up a solid 2-1 start to their district slate with an appearance at the Quitman Tournament Dec. 28-29. Wills Point would fare well overall at the two-day event, going 2-2 against The Lady Tigers opened play against Bland Dec. 28, battling down to the wire in a 51-48 triumph.

sports@vanzandtnews.com The Wills Point Lady Tigers hit the most important stretch of their season last week, offi- cially opening District 14-4A play with games against the Caddo Mills Lady Foxes and Farmersville Lady Farmers.

The Wills Point Tiger tennis program has been a model of consistency on the court over the years, routinely making deep playoff runs and trips to the State Tennis Tournament. While the Tigers finished just short during the fall on a return trip to State, the program was recently recognized by the United State Tennis Association for their sportsmanship.
