The Wills Point Tiger football program has a long and storied history, highlighted by the program’s 1965 State Championship winning season. Despite so much success and such a lengthy history, many of the program’s accomplishments over the years have not been properly documented.

The Wills Point Lady Tigers hit a pair of roadblocks in their quest for a spot in this year’s 4A playoffs last week, dropping successive contests against Sunnyvale and Nevada Community. A slow start would prove to be too much to overcome against the Lady Raiders Oct.

The Tiger cross country program made its way to Lynn Creek Park in Grand Prairie last week, continuing preparations for their upcoming district meet by competing at the 26th annual Ken Gaston Invitational Meet.

Dave Campbell’s Texas Football partnered with Texas Farm Bureau Insurance to shine the spotlight on some of the most deserving young people in Texas Football with the Unsung Hero Award. Prior to Friday night’s homecoming contest against, Wills Point ISD standout student-athlete Cole Roberts was recognized as one of this year’s award recipients.

The Wills Point community was kept busy last week, celebrating homecoming with a series of events including the annual Homecoming Carnival and Bonfire at the high school Sept. 21, the Community- Wide Pep Rally at Ken Autry Davis Stadium Sept. 23, and the Wills Point ISD Education Foundation
